Our Story

The Backstory

DAAD is a small software development company, founded in December 2022 by Ted and Ryan. We are based in the United Kingdom, and we are dedicated to providing high-quality software solutions to small businesses and individuals. We are passionate about what we do, and we are always looking to improve our products and services. Altough, we didn't start like this.

The Beginning

Ted and Ryan first met in January 2021 by creating a discord bot for a popular TikToker's Discord Server. This first project was the reason why we started software development. At the time, neither of us knew how to properly create applications or websites. We were both self-taught, and we were both very passionate about what we were doing. Over the next few months we started talking to each other as the TikToker went inactive and talked about programming.

Over the next few months, we both learnt the basics of programming, and eventually went down the two seperate roads of bot development and website development. We both created our own projects, and we both learnt a lot from them. We both started to learn more advanced programming languages, and we both started to learn more advanced programming techniques. These skills would create the foundationn of Moonlight.

Moonlight

Moonlight was our first true collaboration. We were ambious and started ambious projects. We endeavoured in hosting servers to creating discord bots. Ultimatly, we didn't know what we were doing and there were a number of problems along the way. We were both still learning, and neither of us had come across Node JS at all.

Radio

Oddly, we both enjoyed internet radio. We would both be presenters and developers at many internet stations and would start our own. This would be a time where we would discover the magic of many technologies like Node JS, Express, React, Cloudlfare and much more. We would also discover the magic of the open source community, and we would start to contribute to open source projects.

DAAD

In December 2022, we started developing a full stack management panel and discord bot to manage a discord server for the TikToker Brian Smith. This would be the first project we would work on together in a long time. We would both learn a lot from this project, and we would both learn a lot about each other. We would both learn a lot about the open source community, and we would both learn a lot about the software development industry. This would be the project that would create the foundation of DAAD.

As of July 2023, we have helped over 4,000 people and started to sell high quality products. The future is bright for DAAD, and we are excited to see what the future holds.
